Who is who in the selection of new characters? Arkhalis - THE SCIENTIST The son of Senior, a lost exile of a man with a cold scientific mind. This is often displaced by his unstable emotions. Arkhalis begins with his own type of Halberd, much more ethereal than the others. Arkhalis is the most skilled with the halberd of all characters, reflecting in his ability to use it to it's fullest extent. He has three "movesets" unlike the other halberd wielders who possess one. Use High Cleave on a downed enemy for a one shot kill. Doing so restores a small portion of stamina. Be careful to not miss it or you'll pay with your stamina. Senior - THE LEADER Arkhalis' surrogate father, who doesn't treat him all that well. Arkhalis would watch Senior perish during the first battle of Holmdon. Senior's loadout of weapons is randomised every mission. All of them have some association to his past. He begins with his injuries from the battle of Holmdon, which must be healed, and full strength (and anger, haha.) Octavius - THE WARMONGER Part of a foreign legion [The Axiom] bent on Holmdon's destruction, Octavius' anger comes from his broken status. As leader of the offensive against Holmdon, Monty was successful in killing all but one - Arkhalis. Young Arkhalis' continual outwittal of Octavius lead to his mocking and meteroic fall from power, something he resents explicitly. Octavius begins the game with his scimitar (which is absolutely awful), a light machine gun, and his rifle, all of which are non-tradeable and non-droppable. He loves his Bren gun so much, he'll automatically use it if he's AI-controlled! Octavius is often forced into melee combat due to ammunition shortages; be careful, as Octavius is not designed to fight melee at all. Xeres Legionnaire - THE HARBRINGER Octavius' personal guard, resposible for the hunt for survivors after the Holmdon Siege. They begin with the Zephyr, a battleaxe capable of claiming souls, but are useful for combat only; they cannot support, or pick up any other items at all. The Halberdiers [Warren/George/431st/Senior] - THE VALIANT Under George's banner(s), these few defended Holmdon in it's darkest hour, giving their lives in vain. You may now play them from an alternate perspective of history, although all of them are as nationalistic and proud of their country as before. They all start with varying Holmdon-ese weapons. George begins with his own set of banners. They are covered in more detail in the other files, as they are fairly complex. Amari - THE QUIET Credit to my friend for this one. She is particularly strong friends with Arkhalis. Amari starts with her own brand of umbrella, which is not particularly notable. She also cannot enter despair events, she is immune. She's also in love with Arkhalis, who reciprocates those feelings, but neither of them know. Green - THE GLOWING What do you get when you cross fear, courage, and what MIGHT be intense radiation? Green Bright, that's what - the backpack-ing, glow-in-the-dark-ing, absolutely loyal man who serves as Arkhalis' best and perhaps oldest friend. Green can slap people away and can access the trunk from anywhere; additionally, he glows, and has a special last hurrah on death. Frank - THE SWOLE Arguably Green's bodyguard. Not much goes through his head, but there's MORE THAN PLENTY going on in those muscles. Have fun lifting fridges from the start of the game, and throwing them into zombies. Or vice versa. Frank suffers in the shooting, wits and fitness departments, but can lift nearly any object in the game, even those that TLB can't, but only when using his default attack. He does not start with any items, and will struggle to escape hordes due to his size and other factors. Brazen - THE MEDIC Arkhalis' student long after the tragedy of Holmdon. Use the medical crossbow to heal teammates stuck in a horde, and the syringe gun to defend yourself. After holding the amputator for a certain amount of time, Brazen will heal himself for one hitpoint. As a medical character, Brazen struggles in combat. Meowzers - THE ASSHOLE One of Green's friends, a sassy, quite rhetorical cat gifted the power to speak - something he uses annoyingly well. Since Arkhalis left his town, Meowzers has commandeered his business, and not by diplomacy, I might add. Meowzers wrench allows his to repair the car manually in missions. Meowzers will also cause the car to become linearly more efficient over time. In addition to this, he slowly tinkers with his weapon, The Webber, over the course of the game, eventually turning into a powerful albeit mess of a weapon. Springo - THE...THING A purple clay entity, born to life from an unknown origin. He speaks no langauge and knows no civillization, but he's elastic like a sock. Springo's adorable nature instantly cures civillised characters. He begins with a dart gun and a free revive. Everytime Springo is hit, he loses stats - furthermore, on his death, characters will be overcome with grief. Achilles - THE MONK Achilles brings Arkhalis out of exile. There is some chemistry for a short time, but now Achilles exists very much as a lone wolf of a person. She remains friends with Arkhalis afterwards, but never quite loses her temper (or dexterity.) Achilles starts with her martial arts gear (physical weapons) but cannot pick up any other items. Smith - THE...SMITH Smith was an engineer for much of his time at Holmdon, partially responsible for the rushed fortifaction when the Axiom appeared on the horizon. Despite his best efforts, he was struck down during the siege. You may now witness his genius from an alternative perspective, and bask in his skill in *Gunsmithery.* He starts with his own hammer, which gains charges every mission. After a certain amount, he'll craft something new, which will pop in your inventory for use. Triple - THE DEFENDER Credit to @Triple for this character. Triple's arsenal doesn't do much killing, but it focuses mainly on knockback and delay. Triple's third slot is randomised each mission with a new weapon, mainly orientated around non-lethality with some exceptions. Triple's golf club can easily knock down zombies, and once knocked down, further hits cause EVEN MORE knockback. Furthermore, he starts with the THUMPER, a sticky-goo launcher. Leader Vohx - THE RESISTANCE Those that remained after Holmdon's initial siege became part of a resistance on it's outskirts, based in nameless camps and anonymous parts of forestry. Such attempts at resistance were in vain. Under the iron fist of the Axiom, the resistance was hunted down, and eliminated, it's leaders - including Vohx - made a mockery of. Vohx begins the game with the Invictus, a sword that causes extensive bleeding damage, and his FREEDOM BREWS - chemical concotions that cause a variety of status effects, as per his theme. Tony - THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS Tony can phase through walls, create black holes, and send things into the stratosphere with his YOINK. Black holes can and will suck everything but you in their path, including but not limited to, current prime ministers. He is meant to be OP; he is a joke character and is not meant to be taken seriously in any capacity. Rhodes - THE RIGHT-HAND-MAN A careful and cautious man, who serves as Octavius' second in command, but only out of fear. After the threat of Octavius fades, Rhodes realises his wrong, and switches sides to try and redeem himself. Rhodes begins with the Trench Shotgun and Heavy munition pouch, which are useful only when used together. It allows Rhodes to fire off a number of empowered shots per mission from the shotgun. Any damage that Rhodes receives is PERMANENT. Rhodes begins with 6 shooting. Ross - THE TRAITOR After disagreeing with Senior's leadership style, Ross become enthralled with the prospect of the Axiom. He would later give information regarding the whereabouts of Holmdon defences, contributing greatly to the town's defeat. Ross begins the game with ammo pouches which allow him to carry more ammunition for weapons than normal. He has -2 dexterity as a result, and also begins the game with a small ammo gift (40 rounds.) Mortuus - THE NECROMANCER The embodiment and beholder of the Xeres Legionnaires, Mortuus serves only one purpose, to expand his knowledge of death. Mortuus begins with a sacrifical dagger which can only be used to charge his staff - at the cost of his own health. Swinging the staff when charged will summon skeletons for your command. Furthermore, Mortuus can sacrifice his life in exchange for the life of all of his nearby dead friends with the Artis Tome. Volteor - THE FACTORY Volteor, Arkhalis' failed creation, lives only in suffering. Slow and clunky, it serves it's one purpose well - to artifically synthesise materials. Starting the game with Volteor causes a remote to appear in your inventory. Using the remote will cause Volteor to self-destruct, but will give you gas. So...how much do you hate robots? Norman - THE IRONCLAD Norman does not know many things. So much so that he can't even raise his mechanical or medical skill once in a mission [it can be preserved by putting him on rest.] But at a 87% chance to resist damage, Norman does know how to brawl. And well. Starts with one slot and a very powerful default attack, as well as extensive armour - but that's all he can do, and ever will do. Norman's origins are unknown. We know only of his desire; to sock it to the Axiom, in whatever method possible. / / / / / / / CAMEOS Please for the love of sweet jesus do not ask me to add more. Demoman, Sniper, Heavy, Engineer, Spy - THE TF2 REFERENCE Of course, characters from Team Fortress 2. You'll find quite a lot of (somewhat uncanny) similarities. - Spy and Engie are rare characters. - Heavy, Demo, Sniper are modded custom characters, who begin with their stock loadouts. I have tried to balance them in accordance to how they are balanced in the game. Demo is slow, with limited ammo, heavy is slowest but has a huge healthpool, etc. Captain Kunkka - THE DOTA2 REFERENCE Kunkka currently has the Tidebringer and Ghostship abilities. The Knight - THE HOLLOW KNIGHT REFERENCE That's literally it. They come with a Nail, Vengeful spirit and Soul Restore. When they die, Shade will spawn, and will attempt to kill you and all your friends. Strike Commander - THE REDCON REFERENCE Strike commander starts with his own rifle, sledgehammer, and the ability to call supply drops for 7 food that contain weapons and ammunition. NOTE: Some of these characters will react to one another when they die! This is most notable amongst those who have the same coloured names or have some association to one another. Making it to Canada with Arkhalis and Senior or Arkhalis and Octavius will cause them to argue (on normal mode), and you'll get an achievement. Win-Win. Let me know if you'd like to know anything else about this mod and/or it's characters! :D
