INTRODUCTION ------------ Hey guys! Triple here. Thanks for downloading this mod of mine, it means a lot. This mod for Death Road to Canada changes the music to community-made mashups of DRTC tracks and other media. It changes the majority of the car sprites (working on the rest), loot sprites, menu screen, logo, some other cool stuff. There's loads of references in the car and loot sprites alone, so i'll put those in a separate text file. If you play the mod, please, let me know what you think! My discord is Triple#3992 and DMs are open, or you can ping me in the Rocketcat Games discord. INSTALLATION ------------ Place the contents of DRTBE 1.0 RELEASE.zip (data, deathforth, and ui) into your DeathRoadToCanada folder. For Windows Steam users that's C>Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > DeathRoadToCanada Replace all files prompted and you're good to go! ONLY MOD VANILLA DEATH ROAD OR YOU MAY (PROBABLY WILL) EXPERIENCE SERIOUS ISSUES. UNINSTALL AND CLEAN ANY OTHER MODS BEFORE INSTALLING. NOTE ---------- I am going to be releasing 1.1 soon enough, with the rest of the cars done as well as some other spritework. When? When it's done. COOL STORY I GUESS ------------------ Death Road to Bleeding Ears started as a shitty midi-swap of every death road song. That was it. No custom cars, no cool coding stuff, nothing. Just a literal music swap. DRTBE 2 was similar. With different instruments and stuff. After posting DRTBE 2 I joked with some people in the River of Sludge discord server about what to do for this year. Shitpost harder? And, well, yeah. I was planning to do that. Have some community members give some of their own shitpost versions of DRTC tracks and that was it. Rave.DJ was a site that was pretty popular at the time, so that's mainly what was used, but some were self made, impressively so. I tossed the tracks into Audacity, cut and mixed, and made them sound good. After that we did a little voting about what tracks to keep in (we had quite a few submissions) and what to save for a little project i've got coming later. So that was it, right? Well, yeah. But then Professor Sycamore came along. You might know him as the creator of Death Road to Sycamore. You know, the mod that continually seems to push the game to its limits and do cool stuff. Together, he and I came up with ways to really make this mod special. NOW PLAYING text, a couple easter eggs, custom start screen and menu colors. And this, I guess, made me a lot more motivated to keep this mod going, do more stuff. Custom car sprites, loot sprites, et cetera. I couldn't be happier with how well ROS cooperated to make this mod work, otherwise it would have flopped hard. So, did I shitpost harder? Yeah. Too hard? Absolutely not. Thanks for reading up on this. Means a lot.
